WAS IT A MISTAKE?

Long before the eyes of strangers was the birth of a new nation. She was born on this Island,
where the fearless even feared to adventure. She came full of strength, riches, dreams, passions and divine bestowments. Promised and captivating. She grew into a very beautiful land with great inhabitants. Her name is Ghana.
Mother Ghana, a mother who never sleeps while the child is awake, the type that is willing to catch the moon and stars for her crying children. In her possession were precious gifts like gold , diamond, bauxite, coal, timber, salt, crude oil, only to mention but a few. The young and growing nation, saw pain right from her beginning . Her surrounding nations sought her destruction, as young as she was, her enemies numbered.
Surprisingly, in her struggle, she has found a stab right from her own inhabitants; her own people. She was doing all she could to give her people what they sought for, but they turned blind eyes to it.
Her people sought for strange cultures and way of life, Her people never made efforts to extract all the goodies they had been bestowed with. She always saw her children chase and strive for things inferior to what they actually had at home. They moved to develop the lands of her competitors. She asked herself ,"was it a mistake that the Supremo made by giving me such inhabitants? My people are aggressively chasing values which are strange, they are learning the uncommon . Was it a mistake to have been made like this?" She broke into tears whenever she recalled the eagerness of her own children after loose things , leaving their own great possessions into the hands of opportunists; oh! that was her pain.
She called and still calls her people to come down and see, what they have to make them better. You and I , are her inhabitants, her people. Was it a mistake to have been born a Ghanaian? Whose fault was it that we never see anything good in ourselves other than those from strangers? Now is the time to rise to that great destiny that we have and share as a nation, a people  and kindred. Let us all and sundry in her boundaries yearn for great change and developments for others to witness, for it was never a mistake to have been made like this.

Thank you
