I always ask myself this question ;"who am I? " I had no answer to this question until I begun the research about my personality. I have come to understand this fact that who I am is really the unseen Me.
Temperaments or Personalities is what all of us have been born with genetically inherited "behavioral tendencies "that are as much as our DNA , passed on from our parents unto us. Our personalities are the combinations of our environmental influence and our DNA. Scientific research has proved that all human personalities are classified into four major classes. These have further been broken into two broad categories : Introverts and Extroverts.
Introverted personalities are the melancholic and the phlegmatic . Introverts are more shy and "reserved " . They feel anxious about being in the crowd, particularly when singled out of the crowd.
Extroverts are the choleric and the sanguine. These personality types are more " outgoing", more sociable and more comfortable even when singled out of the crowd.
It should be noted that all human beings have more than one of the personalities above. Therefore , the choleric and the sanguine can inherit some traits of the melancholic and the phlegmatic.
A. MELANCHOLIC.
These are individuals who are fundamentally introverted. Melancholies are known to be "thinkers". They have analytical minds, best at details and analysis. They tend to be deep thinkers, who often see the negative side of life. They are serious , purposeful and ambitious individuals . They turn out to be analytical, musical, talented, creative, philosophical, economical and self-sacrificing. They often people who make doctors, nurses and teachers because they are caring. They are often seen as stingy and see, no achievements worth them.They respond poorly to compliments, often rebutting
B. PHLEGMATIC
These are basically relaxed and quiet. They are easy going and content with themselves , calm, cool and keep emotions hidden. They are good at putting facts together and generalizing them. They can be recessive. They have sweet spirits. They are serviceable and good followers. They have high esteem. They are seen to have more friends.
C. CHOLERIC.
This is the "goal-getter". These are naturally gifted businessmen and women. They insist on the best and nothing less .
They are productivity minded , and often domineering in nature. They do not care about what others feel or think . They have high standards, optimistic and confident; yet inconsiderate.
D. SANGUINE.

In academia, such people are good at Mathematics and Engineering.
